Spirituality communities cover meditation, mindfulness, faith-based groups, manifestation and various contemplative practices. They are among the oldest use cases for online community and often the most genuinely communal — less transactional than the business categories, with members who stay for years rather than months. The best are built around shared practice: guided sessions, sitting groups, study of a specific text or tradition. Prices are typically low or free, and many exist primarily to support a teacher’s in-person work. As in any category, be wary of groups that combine spiritual authority with expensive upsells or discourage outside perspectives. A healthy community here will be relaxed about members coming and going and will not treat scepticism as a problem to be managed.
